The traditional procession of Halubian bell-ringers, true guardians of the folklore tradition and identity of Halubje and the Kastav region, is known far beyond the regional and national borders. Due to its uniqueness, the annual carnival procession of Halubian bell-ringers is included, along with other bell-ringing groups in the Kastav region, on the UNESCO list of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Parts of the Halubian bell-ringers\u2019 route are combined into a circular and undemanding walking route that provides the best and simplest way to experience the procession, including original locations enriched with educational content. The route starts at Vi\u0161kovo hill, the place where the Halubian bell-ringers end their procession every year, and takes you through Gornje Juge to kali\u0107 (pond) Kapitovac. This is one of the deepest and largest depressions in Halubje. Over time, the bottom of this depression was increasingly covered with an impermeable layer of loam, and it also became home to a pond that never dries out. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
From Kapitovac, the route continues along the forest path to the centre of Kastav. From Kastav, the trail descends towards \u017degoti and continues to the village of Bani. Following the old roads and among the dry stone walls, you will reach the Lower Turks.
